There can be no lasting peace while Gaza is under siege, the West Bank is covered with illegal settlements, and East Jerusalem is under Israeli control. The illusion of a two-state solution does not change the basic facts: Israel continues to expand its territory, deliberately violating international law, while Palestinians are offered a “solution” that in practice enables the continuation of colonial expansion. If we want to understand the depth of the problem, we must critically re-examine the very logic of that “solution.”
